CONCEBNING WEED ABATEMENT ASSESS~IENT
WHERFAS~ THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF SANTA ANA DID, BY RESOLUTION NO.
62-146, authorize the 0r~nge County Tax Collector to assess Mr. James E. Pepper,
owner of a lot identified by the Orange County Assessor as Parcel 16-160-50
in Area 11-015, the sum of $15.31 for destroying weeds on said property; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pepper has filed a claim against the City in the amount of
$15.31 based on the fact that no weeds were in fact destroyed on said property;
and
WHEREAS, investigation by City employees determined that the charge for
abating the weed nuisance on said property was in fact erroneous; and
WHEREAS~ the City Attorney has opined that the claim filed byMr. Pepper
is Just aud payable; NOW ~fIEREFORE,
THIS COUNCIL DOES AUTHORIZE ~E CANCELLATION OR REFUND OF THE ASSESSMENT
AGAINST PARCEL 16-160-50 IN THE AMOUNT OF $15.31 AND DIRECTS THAT THE CLERK OF
THE COUNCIL FILE A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION WITH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF ORANGE COUNTY AND WITH THE ORANGE COUNTY AUDITOR.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa A_ua at its
