Home My WebLink About62-231RESOLUTION NO. 62-231 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF TH~ CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN ~tE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDINGER AVENUE BETWEEN BRISTOL STREET AND MAPLE S'PREET regular meeting held on the A.i.i.~ST: CLERK OF THE COUNCIL WHEP~EAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve Edinger Avenue from Bristol Street to M~ple Street, and WHEREAS, Edlnger Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of gener~ County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and 3, Chapter 9~ Division 2 of 'the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users T~x Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1963-64 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $207,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City~ to be used to aid said City in the construction of Edinger Avenue between Bristol Street and Maple Street; said construction to be in accordance with the attached project s~atement; and BE IT FUR~MERRESOLVED: That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said improvement of Edinger Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of construction will be available for the Fiscal Year 1963-64.
