OF STATE VEHICLE CODE SHAF.T. APPLY TO A PRIVATE ROAD
OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE
WHEREAS, the State Divisions of Highways is constructing an
intersection on Main Street, State Route 2b, which construction is
part of State Routes 19, 174 and 179 Interchange construction; and
WHEREAS, the East leg of said intersection provides a direct
connection with the Garden Grove Freeway and a portion of said
connection is known as Town and Country Road; and
WHEREAS, the West leg of said intersection is to be the main
entrance from Main Street into the Fashion Square Shopping Center
over a private road; and
WHEREAS, due to the estimated high volume of traffic which
will use the West leg of said intersection, it has been determined
that a standard intersection design is required and said intersection
will be controlled by traffic control signals to handle traffic safely
and efficiently at said intersection and more particularly, at the
West leg of this intersection; and
WHEREAS, the West leg of this intersection will be said private
road owned and maintained by Bullock's Incorporated open for use of
the public for purposes of vehicular traffic, which said private road
extends from Main Street to the East curb line of a private North-
South driveway on Bullock's property, known as Jacaranda Drive,
and more particularly described as:
A 36 foot wide (curb to curb) private road on Bullock's
Incorporated property extending 271.8 feet in a Westerly
direction fr~n the Westerly right of way line of Main
Street (State Route 2b) to the Easterly curb line of
Jacaranda Drive (a private street), center line of said
private road being approximately 8 feet Northerly of the
center line of Town and Country Road, a public street
extending Easterly from Main Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA: That in accordance with Section 21107.5 of the

California Vehicle Code, said private road hereinabove described shall
be subject to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code and said
provisions shall apply to any vehicles using said private road.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of December,
