HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-236RESOLUTION NO. 62-236 APPROVING MAP, DECLARING INTENTION TO VACATE ~N UNNAMED ALLEY RUNNING BETWE~J MAIN AND BUSH STREETS NORTH OF TWENTIETH STREET AND RESERVING THEREIN PUBLIC UTILITY EAS~NTS WHEHEAS, a request for the vacation of an unnamed alley, herein described, was received and referred to the De- partment of Public Works and the Planning Department, which said Departments recommended approval of the abandonment subject to certain conditions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby adopts the map attached hereto and orders the same filed with the original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council; reference is hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries of the alley right of way proposed to be vacated. The City Council declares its intention to proceed with this vacation under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300 through 8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate that certain unnamed alley in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as: An unnamed alley, 14.75 feet in wid%h,~located b~tw~eh Lots I and2 of the Phelps Subdivision North of Twentiethl S%reet,~bou~ided' on the~East by~the'N~rtherly extension of the East line of ~atd LOt' 2 and'beunded on ~.e. Mest by. a line p_ara]] gl to and 45 feet East, measured at right angles, from the surveyed CCh%er line of Main Street. BE_IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the use of said alley by the Southern California Edison Company and the City of Santa Ana for public utility structures and installations requi~e the reservation of utility easements to maintain a 12 kv feeder line, poles, cables, conduits and other facilities for the transmission of electrical energy, and under- ground pipes, man holes and other facilities for water and sanitary sewer purposes together with the right to repair, maintain, inspect, operate, reconstruct said facilities in all p~rtsyof~aid'vacat~.area,~a~d the public convenience.- nd necessity require the reservation of easements and rights of way for said structures and purposes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That before the surface area of said alley may be used for parking, maneuvering or other non-permanent surface use, the alley drive approaches at both Main and Bush Streets shall be removed and standard curb, gutter and sidewalks constructed across the entrances. BE IT FURTHER BESOLVED: That January 21, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, california, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed street vacation.
