PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE
NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "SUNFLOWER AND FLOWER
NORTHWEST ANNEX" AND GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST
HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, heretofore the Boundary Commission of Orange County
has approved the description of territory hereinbelow contained for
the purpose of annexation to the City of Santa Aha, California, and
a petition requesting annexation of said territory, signed by the
owners of all of said territory, has been presented to the City
Council. The Santa Aha Planning Commission has approved the annexa-
tion of said territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
declares its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow
described under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that all of the
owners of said territory have petitioned for annexation to Santa Aha;
that said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of Government
Code Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution;
that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in
the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Commencing at the Southwest corner of the Northeast one-
quarter of Section 36, Township 5 South, Range 10 West,
San Bernardino Base and Meridian, said Southwest corner
being on the center line of Sunflower Avenue; thence
Westerly along said center line 25.00 feet, more or less,
to the Southerly extension of the West line of that certain
parcel of land conveyed to the Orange County Flood Control
District, recorded in Book 1950, Page 109, Official Records
of Orange County, California; thence North 0° 39' 25" East,
a distance of 25.00 feet, more or less, to a point on the
North line of Sunflower Avenue, said point also being an
angle point in the existing boundary of the City of Santa
Ana as established by the South Santa Aha Annex No. 5,
Ordinance No. N.S. 450; thence North 0° 39' 25" East a
distance of 1106.57 feet, along the existing boundary of
the City of Santa Aha as established by said South Santa Ana
Annex No. 5, and along said West line of said parcel of the
Orange County Flood Control District to an angle point in
said City boundary and to the true point of beginning;
thence, departing from said City boundary, North 0° 39' 25"
East, a distance of 3,375.29 feet, along said West line of
said parcel of the Orange County Flood Control District;
thence, departing from said West line of said parcel of the
Orange County Flood Control District North 89° 20' 31" West,
a distance of 162.70 feet; thence, South 0~ 39' 25" West,

a distance of 62.00 feet; thence, North 89° 20' 35" West,
a distance of 156.80 feet; thence, South 0° 39' 25" West,
a distance of 62.00 feet; thence, North 89° 20' 35" West,
a distance of 96.80 feet; thence, South 0° 39' 25" West,
a distance of 62.00 feet; thence, North 89° 20' 35" West,
a distance of 156.90 feet; thence, South 0° 39' 45" West,
a distance of 3,192.63 feet, to a point in the existing
City boundary of the City of Santa Ana, as established by
said South Santa Aha Annex No. 5; thence, South 89° 40' 35"
East, a distance of 573.52 feet along said City boundary
and along the South line of the 127.040 acre parcel of land
as shown on a Record of Survey Map filed in Book 7, Page 31,
Records of Survey in the Office of the County Recorder of
said Orange County, to the true point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "SUNFLOWER AND FLOWER NORTHWEST
ANNEal" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
February 18, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear written protests
against this annexation made by any person owning property within said
territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner of real
property within said territory may file written protest against this
proposed annexation. Such protest shall state the name of the owner
of the property affected and the description and area of the property
in general terms, all as provided for in the California Government
Code Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of January, 1963.
