OF~REAL PROPERTY FOR THE EASTERLY EXTENSION
OF ALTON STREET ACROSS HALLADAY STREET AND
RESCINDING RE~OLUTION NO. 63-15
WHEREAS, Alton Street as it now exists dead-ends West of
Halladay Street, is inadequate to satisfy the present demand for
East-West traffic in this industrial area of the City, and is not
adequate to provide for traffic circulation in the area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby finds and determines that public
interest and necessity require that Alton Street be extended to and
across Halladay Street, and further require that said City do have
and acquire an easement for street purposes over, through and across
certain land in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
PARCEL 1:
Lot 26 in Block A of Seccombe Addition to Dyer, as
shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 8, Page 17,
Miscellaneous Maps, records of said Orange County;
EXCEPTING the North 34 feet thereof.
PARCEL 2:
A strip of land cc~mencing at the Southwest corner
of Lot 26 in Block A above described; thence South 0° 40'
East 18.5 feet to the South line of the Northeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter of Section 30, in Township 5
South, Range 9 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian;
thence along said South line 140 feet to a point on the
West line of Harbor Road extended South; thence North
0° 40' West 18.4 feet, to the Southeast corner of said
Lot 26; and thence West 140 feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 3:
Lot 26 in Block B of Seccombe Addition to Dyer, in
the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 8, Page 17,
Miscellaneous Maps, records of said Orange County;
PARCEL 4:
A strip of land commencing at the Southeast corner of
said Lot 26 in Block B; running thence South 0° 40' East
18.2 feet to the South line of the Northeast quarter of
the Southwest quarter of Section 30, in Township 5 South,
Range 9 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence
West along the South line, 140 feet to a point on the East
line of Harbor Road, extended South; thence North 0° 40'
West 18.3 feet, more or less, to the Southwest corner of
Lot 26 in Block B; thence East 140 feet to the point of
beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an
action in the name of the City to condemn said property necessary
to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action
to final determination;

2. That public interest, necessity and convenience require
and it is hereby ordered that said City take immediate possession
and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired upon compliance
with the requirements of law applicable ~hereto as a right of way
for public use;
3. That said public improvement is planned and located in
a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public
good and the least private injury;
4. That the City of Santa Ana, a municipal corporation,
authorized and empowered to provide for the opening, extension,
widening, construction and maintenance of public streets and
highways within the City;
5. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent
domain;
6. That Resolution No. 63-15 is hereby rescinded.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of March, 1963.
