City Council met for a special meeting for the purpose of considering the reawarding of contract on construction of Central Fire Station to low bidder with inclusion of full basement or on basis of Alternate Proposal #2. Me,ting called to order by the Mayor. Present: TrUstees Absent: Trustees In Re Reconsider Bids - Const. Fire Station S.~.Cor. Sycamore & Walnut Sts. William Jerome, J.L.McBride, 0rson H. Hunter, Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. None # Since no contract has been signed for construction of Headquarters Fire Station at the southeast corner of Sycamore and ~alnut Streets, because of Federal restrictions on steel and other metals, it was moved by Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, that the action, here- tofore taken, the acceptance of the bid of South Coast Construction 187 In Re Award of bid ~cnst. Fire Station S.M.Cor. Sycamore & Walnut Sts. Company on Proposal #1 and eliminating Proposal #2 (basement alternate) be reconsidered and the acceptance of the bid be withdrawn and all bids be reconsidered including Proposal #2. It was moved by Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, that the bid of South Coast Construction Company, as the lowest responeibl~ bidder, for construction of a Headquarters Fire Station at the south- east corner of Sycamore and Walnut Streets, Proposal #1 and Proposal #2, as .one unit, in the amount of $304,975.00, be accepted. ,, On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the City Council adjourned.
