PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN
APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY OF
"SANTA CLARA AND TUSTIN N. E. ANNEX" AND
GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, heretofore the Boundary Cc~mission of Orange County
has approved the description of territory hereinbelow contained for
the purpose of annexation to the City of Santa Aha, California, and
a petition requesting annexation of said territory, signed by the
owners of all of said territory, has been presented to the City
Council. The Santa Ana Planning Commission has approved the annex-
ation of said territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
declares its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow
described under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that all of the
Owners of said territory have petitioned for annexation to Santa Aha;
that said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of Government
Code Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution;
that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in
the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the South line of
Santa Clara Avenue with the West line of Tustin Avenue
said point being 25.00 feet South and 30.00 feet West
of the Southwest corner of Lot 5 in Block "B" of the
A. B. Chapman Tract as surveyed by Frank Lecouvreur in
December, 1870 and shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 102, Page 15, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California; and running thence North
0° 53' 22" East, 685.00 feet along the West line of
Tustin Avenue to the Westerly extension of the North
line of the South One-half (S ½) of said Lot 5, said
West line of Tustin Avenue being 30.00 feet West,
measured at right angles from the center line of Tustin
Avenue; thence South 88° 57' 07" East 1,350.30 feet along
said Westerly extension and along said North line to a
point on the East line of said Lot 5 and to a point in
the City boundary of the City of Tustin as established
by Tustin City Ordinance No. 145; thence South 0° 53' 22"
West 750.30 feet along the East line of Lot 5 and along
said Tustin City boundary to an angle point in the
existing boundary of the City of Santa Ana as established
by Ordinance No. NS-606; thence departing from said Tustin
City boundary and running along said Santa Aha boundary
the following five bearings and courses: North 85° 58' 36"
West 160.88 feet; thence North 82° 39' 05" West 154.94 feet;
thence North 85~ 30' 20" West 249.45 feet; thence North
1° 02' 53" East 25.00 feet to a point on the South line of
Santa Clara Avenue, said South line being 25.00 feet South,
measured at right angles from the center line of said
Santa Clara Avenue; thence North 88° 57' 07" West 126.00
feet more or less along said South line of Santa Clara
Avenue to an angle point in said Santa Aha City boundary;
thence departing from said Santa Aha boundary and
continuing along said South line of Santa Clara Avenue
North 88~ 57' 07" West 663.00 feet more or less to the
point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "SANTA CLARA AND TUSTIN N.E.
ANNEX" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
August 5, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear written
protests against this annexation made by any person owning property
within said territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner
of real property within said territory may file written protest
against this proposed annexation. Such protest shall state the
name of the owner of the property affected and the description and
area of the property in general terms, all as provided for in the
California Government Code, Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of June, 1963.
