TERRITORY OF ,IRVINE'S SUBDIVISION ANNEX NO. 1"
AND GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and map of said territory were
presented to the Santa Ana Planning C~,u~ission, which approved
annexation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary
Cc~mission, which caused a report to be prepared finding that the
map did not agree with Line 7 on Page 1 of the description which
showed "Range 9 West", and that Line 27 on Page 2 of said description
showed the prefix "NS" had been left out of the ordinance number and
that the same should read "Ordinance NS-64!';and that for these reasons
the boundaries of said proposed annexationwere not reasonably
definite and certain and were returned for correction; and
WHEREAS, said corrections have now been made to Line 27,
Page 2 of said description and to the map to show "Range 9 West"
and to show the book and page where the same is recorded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of said
territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Ana for the
following reasons:
That the said territory can best be served by the City
of Santa Ana with municipal services of the highest
quality anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services
which is lower than can be obtained anywhere else in
the County of Orange;
That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the
land owners that said territory become a part of said
city.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territo~y is uninhabited
within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the date of
the adoption of this Resolution; and that said territory is contig-
uous to the City of Santa Aha, lies in the County of Orange, State
of California, and is described as:
Beginning at an angle point in the Santa Ana City boundary,
established as the Northeast corner of land annexed to Santa
Ana by Ordinance No. NS-64, said point being at the inter-
section of the center line of Dyer Road with the West line
of the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way as conveyed to
the Santa Ana Railroad by deed recorded in Book 13, Page 9,
Deeds, Records of Orange County, California, said center
line of Dyer Road being on the South line of the Northwest
Quarter (N.W.%) of Section 30, Township 5 South, Range 9 West,
San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence departing from said
City boundary North 1° 44' 42" East, 50.00 feet to a line
parallel with and distant Northerly 50.00 feet, measured at
right angles from said center line of Dyer Road; thence along
said parallel line South 88° 15' 18" East, 660 feet, more or
less, to an angle point in land conveyed to the state of
California by deed recorded in Book 6049, Page 720, Official
Records of said Orange County; thence North 66° 11' 53" East,
45.11 feet to a line parallel with and distant Northwesterly
237 feet, measured at right angles, from the Northwest line
of Irvine's Subdivision, as shown on a map recorded in
Book 1, Page 88 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the Office of
the County Recorder of said Orange County, said Northwest
line being on the center line of New~ort Avenue~ thence
along last said parallel line North 40° 39~ 12" East 247.35
feet~ thence South 88° 15~ 18" East 350 feet, more or less,
to a point in the Southeast line of New~ort Avenue, said
Southeast line being 30 feet Southeasterly, measured at
right angles fro~ the center line of Newport Avenue~ thence
along said parallel line North 40~ 39~ 12" East, 1,918 feet,
more or less, to an angle point in land conveyed to the
State of California by deed recorded in Book 6009, Page 427,
Official Records of said Orange County~ thence along the
boundaries of said land described in said last mentioned
deed, the following five courses, South 49° 20' 48" East,
16 feet to a point on a line that is 46 feet Southeasterly,
measured at right angles, fro~ the center line of Newport
Avenue~ thence along said last mentioned parallel line,
North 40~ 39' 12" East, 950 feet~ thence South 67~ 34' 11"
East, 372.71 feet~ thence South 58~ 06' 37" East, 328.17
feet~ thence North 40° 39' 12" East, 20 .feet to a line
parallel with and distant 30 feet Southwesterly, measured at
right angles, fro~ the Northeasterly line Lot 97 in Block 9
of said Irvine's Subdivision~ thence along said last mentioned
parallel line South 49° 20' 48" East, 1880 feet, more or
less, to a line that is parallel with and distant Northwesterly
30 feet, measured at right angles fro~ the center line of
Redhill Avenue~ thence along said parallel line South 40~ 39~ i
12" West, 5250 feet, more or less, to the Southerly corner
of Lot 115 of Block 9, of said Irvine~s Subdivision~ thence
North 49~ 20~ 48" West 1290 feet, more Or less, along the
Southwest line of said Lot 115 to the Westerly corner of
said Lot 115~ thence North 40° 39' 12" East, 1,320 feet, more
or less, along the Northwest line of said Lot 115 to the
Southerly corner of Lot 107 of said Block 9~ thence North
49~ 20~ 48" West, 1,290 feet, more or less, to a point on a
line that is parallel with and 30 feet Southeasterly,
measured at right angles, fro~ the center line of said
New~ort Avenue~ thence along said last mentioned parallel
line South 40~ 39' 12" West, 1,190 feet, more or less, to a
point that is distantNortheasterly 130.88 feet, measured
at right angles, fr~ the Southwesterly line of Lot 116 in
Block 9 of said Irvine's Subdivision and to an angle point
in the Santa Ana City boundary as established by Ordinance
NO. NS-320~ thence along said City boundary West 39 feet,
more or less, to a point on the center line of Newport
Avenue and to the Northeast corner of land annexed to the
City of Santa Aha by Ordinance No. NS-102~ thence continuing
along said City boundary as established by Ordinance No.
NS-102, and along the Easterly extension of the North line
of the Secc~mbe Tract as shown on a map recorded in Book 8,
Page 89 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County,
North 89° 13~ 55" West, 110.93 feet to a point on the West
line Of said Southern Pacific Railroad right of way, and to
the Southeast corner of land annexed to the City of Santa
Ana by Ordinance No. NS-64 and to a point in a non tangent
curve concave Northwesterly and having a radius of 1126.28
feet, a ra~ial to said curve at said point bears North
61~ 39' 40" West~ thence Northeasterly along said curve and
along said City boundary, through a central angle of 17° 27~
20", an arc distance of 343.13 feet to a tangent line~ thence
along said tangent line and along said Ordinance NS-64
boundary, North 10~ 53~ 00" East, 767.49 feet to a tangent
curve concave Westerly and having a radius of 1126.28 feet~
thence along said curve and continuing along said Ordinance
No. NS-64 boundary, an arc distance o~ 203.13 feet, through
a central angle of 10~ 20~ 00" to a tangent line~ thence
along said tangent line and along said Ordinance No. NS-64
boundary, North 0~ 33' 00" East~ 52.83 feet to the point of
beginning.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "IRVINE'S SUBDIVISION ANNEX
NO. 1" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER R~SOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
November 4, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
city Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear written protests
against this annexation made by any person owning property within
said territory. At any time prior to final adjournment of the
hearing on protests, any owner of property within the territory may
file written protest against this annexation. Such protest shall
state the name of the owner of the property affected and the street
address or other description of the property sufficient to identify
it on the last equalized assessment roll, all as provided for in
California Government Code Section 35312.

Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of September, 1963.
