THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR AND GRANTING A
VARIANCE ON VARIANCE APPLICATION NO. 1855

WHEREAS, after public hearing on notice the Zoning Adminis-
trator granted a variance on Variance Application No. 1855, filed
by ARTHUR L. PERKINS to Waive block wall requirement between
cormmercially zoned and residentially used property in a C-1 District
and located at 1916 West Seventeenth Street, Santa Ana, California;
and
WHEREAS, Appeal Application No. 111 was duly filed by the
Department of Public Works of the City of Santa Ana appealing the
decision of the Zoning Administrator which did not include their
recommended condition that 22 feet on Seventeenth Street be dedicated
for street purposes, and requesting a hearing on said Variance
before the City Council; and
WHEREAS, after public hearing on notice, the City Council has
determined that the decision of the Zoning Administrator should be
upheld and that said Variance should be granted subject to conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby upholds the decision of the Zoning
Administrator to grant a variance on Variance Application No. 1855,
subject to conditions as follows:
That a six-foot cedar or redwood fence be placed along
the northerly 125 feet of the applicant's east and west
property lines, excepting therefrom the front 20 feet
at which place the fence shall not exceed 4 feet in
height.
2. That the development be otherwise according to plot
plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of December, 1963.
