CITY OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
KENNETH E. MORRISON FOR HIS LONG AND ABLE
SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF OI{ANGE COUNTY
WHEREAS, KENNETH E. MORRISON has served the people of Orange
County for over forty years; he left his position as Deputy County
Clerk upon his appointment as Justice of the Peace of the Santa Aha
Justice Court in 1924 where he served continuously until his
election to the Superior Court Bench of Orange County in 1940; and
WHEREAS, during all his time as a public servant he maintained
an active and continuous interest in the citizens of Santa Ana,
devoting himself especially and outstandingly to the young people
of our City and more recently to the young people of our County. He
was for many years active with youth groups in the high school and
became known as the most regular attender at our athletic events
where he functioned as a one-man rooting section and an actual cheer
leader for the Santa Ana teams; and
WHEREAS, he has maintained an active interest and worked with
many youth groups in the City; has given time, interest and counsel
to the Alcoholics Anonymous in Santa Ana; and was the "spark plug"
moving force and almost single-handedly recruited the people within
the City to work for and put over an initiative measure providing
a special tax for a period of three years to construct the swimming
pool and bathhouse in Memorial Park in this City which was favorably
voted for in November, 1952; and
WHEREAS, for more than forty years he has been widely and
favorably known throughout the County of Orange but most particularly
within the City of Santa Ana, and because of his unusual and out-
standing background
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA: That said Council expresses its thanks and the thanks and
appreciation of the citizens of the City of Santa Aha for his long,
faithful and many-featured service to this City and County and
extends to him the sincere hope that he will find enjolanent and
fulfillment in the years of his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of December, 1963.
