OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTER-
SECTION OF McFADDEN AVENUE AND RAITT STREET
WHEREAS~ the City of Santa Ana desires to improve the intersection of
McFadden Avenue and Raitt Street, and
WHEREAS~ McFadden Avenue and Raitt Street are important arteries in the
County of Orange and of general County interest~ and
WR~REAS~ Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets
and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds ap-
portioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any
City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS~ the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action,
provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the
Fiscal Year 1964-65 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the
incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the 0ra~e County Arterial
Highway Financing Program.
NOW~ TREEEFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Aha
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to
said City from County Funds the amount of $7~600.00~ said amount to be matched
by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of the
intersection of McFadden Avenue and Raitt Street, said improvements to be in
accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FURTEER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange is hereby requested to find that said work at McFadden Avenue and Raitt
Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha
agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and
further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements ~ill
be available for the Fiscal Year 1964-65.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its
regular meeting held on the 2~rd day of December , 196 ~
