HomeMy WebLinkAbout61-046RESOLUTION NO. 61-~6 CALLING, OI{DERII~GAi~D PROVIDING FOR A GENERAL Di~ICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD APRIL 4, 1951 IN THE CITY OF SANTA AI~A, CALIFOR/~IA, AND IN TERRITORY WITHIN THE SANTA ANA SCHOOL DISTRICTS LYING OUTSIDE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA FOR THE ELECTION OF THREE ME?tBERS OF THE CITY COUI~CIL A~D T~tREE i~EMBERS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION; DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES, THE HOURS OF ELECTION, OFFICES TO BE FILLED AND APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICERS TO SERVE AT SAID ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED: That a General Municipal Election is hereby called and shall be held in the City of Santa Aha, California, and in territory with- in the Santa Aha School Districts lying outside of the City of Santa Ana, for and by the qualified registered electors residing in said City and said territory, on April 4, 1961. That there shall be 85 voting precincts, 84 of which shall be within the territorial limits of the City of Santa Ana~ consisting of regular voting precincts or the consolidation of two or more regular voting precincts established for the holding of State and County elections. Precinct No. 85 shall consist of that portion of the Santa Aha School District, Santa Aha High School District, and the Santa Ana Junior College District, or any of them lying outside of the corporate limits of the City of Santa~An~ for the purpose only of voting on three (3) members of the Board of Education. That the Precinct Board of each precinct shall consist of one (1) Inspector, one (1) Judge and two (2) Clerks; that the Voting Precincts, the Polling Places thereof and the Election Board for each shall be as set out on that document entitled "ELECTION OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES" on file in the Office of the Clerk of the Council, and the Election Officers comprising the Board of each of said Voting Precincts are hereby appointed. That the Polls shall be opened at 7:00 A.~4. and shall be kept open until 7:00 P.M. on the day of said Election. -1- That the Clerk of the Council shall prepare and cause to be published a list of the names of the nominees, in the order in which they appear on the Ballot, together with the offices for which they have been nominated, said publication to be made once a week for two successive weeks before said Election. That said Election is held to elect officers to fill the offices for the terms as follows: (1) Three (3) members of the City Council nominated from Wards One, Three and Five, and they shall be elected by the electors of the City at large. ~I~e term of each shall begin on April 11, 1961, and shall terminate on the second Tuesday in April, 1965. (2) Three (3) members of the Board of Education to be elected at large, the term of each to begin on April 11, 1961 and to terminate on the second Tuesday in April, 1965. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of February, 1961.
