HomeMy WebLinkAbout61-082RESOLUTION NO. 61-82 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO ASSF~LY BILL 350 BE IT RESOLVED: ~l~tthe City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests that Assembly Bill 350 be killed in Committee and that if not so killed, be opposed by "no" votes in the Assembly and the Senate. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That there presently exists no need for such legislation in the State of California; that the condition of the case law, statutes and ordinances presently existing make any such legislation unnecessary, and legislation such as Assembly Bill 350 might permit large groups of public employees to be welded into a force that could materially affect the result of local elections in a manner which is contrary to all accepted standards and princi- ples of the American democratic system and might introduce evils that we are now singularly free from. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of March, 1961.
