A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA A~D DETERMINING A~) DECLARING THAT WEEDS
WHICH WHEN ~ATURE BEAR WINGY OR DOWNY SEEDS WHICH
WILL ATTAIN SUCH A LARGE GROWTH AS TO BECOME A
FIRE NE~NACE WHEN DRY, OR WHICH ARE NOXIOUS OR
DANGEROUS, ARE GROWING UPON CERTAIN STREETS~
SIDEWALKS, Ak~ PRIVATE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF
SANTA ANA, AND ARE A PUBLIC NUISANCEs DIRECTING
THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO POST NOTICES TO
DESTROY SAID WEEDS AS REQUIRED BY LAWS FIXING
THR TINE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS AND PROTESTS, AND
DIRECTING THE ABATFJ~ENT THEREOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CHAPTER 13, PART 2, DIVISION 3, TITLE 4 OF THE
GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANADOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWSs
SECTION 1.
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 13, Part 2, Division 3, Title 4
of the Government code of the State of California, the City Council
of the City of Santa Aha hereby determines and declares that weeds
which when mature bear wingy or downy seeds, which will attain such
a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry or which are
otherwise noxious or dangerous, are growing upon certain streets,
sidewalks and private property in said City, and are hereby declared
to be a public nuisance, and that the names of such streets as they
are commonly known are hereinafter set forth and the property front-
ing upon such streets or sidewalks, or in front of which such nuisance
exists are hereinafter particularly described by lot and block numbers
according to the official assessment map;

SBCTION ~l The Director of Public Works of the City of Santa Ann is hereby
instructed to prepare and post notices to destroy said weeds as required hy
law. Said notices shall he posted at least five (5) days prior to the time
for hearing objections and protests by the City Council of said City, and
shall he conspicuously posted in front of the property on which, or in
front of which such nuisance exists, one notice to each piece or parcel of
property in separate ownership o£ not over fifty (50) feet frontage, or not
more than two notices to any piece or parcel of property in separate owner-
ship with a frontage of one hundred (100) feet or less. If the frontage of
any piece or parcel of property in separate ownership is greater than 100
feet, notices shall he posted at not more than one hundred (100) feet in
distance apart.
SECTION ~l The City Council does hereby fix the 1st day of May, 1961 at
7130 o'clock P. M. as the time and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of
said City, as the place, for hearing objections and protests to the proposed
removal of such weeds.
PASSED A~ ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA at its regular
meeting held on the 3rd day of April, 1961.
