BY HAVING THE ~EEDS REFERRED TO REMOVED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~%NTA ANA DOES RESOLVE A~ FOLLOI~s
SECTION 1~ Pursuant to provisions of Chapter 13, Part 2, Division 3, Title 4
of the Goverr~ent Code of the State of California, the City Council of the City
of Santa A~ta, having acquired Jurisdiction so to do, hereby o~ders the Street
S~perintendent of said City to abate the p%lblic Nuisance heretofore declared
to exist in said City of San~;a Aha, to-~it~ [leeds which~ when mature, bear
wing¥ or downy seeds, which will attain such a large growth as to become a fire
menace when dry or which are otherwise noxious a~d dangerous~ growing upon the
streets or sidewalks in front of or upon all that private property described
in Resolution No. 61-94 of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, passed
and adopted on the 3~d day of April,1961, to which Resolution reference is
hereby made for fur%her particular description of said private property.
~CT!~N2~ Any property owner shall have the right to have any of said weeds
removed at his own expense, providing the same is done prior to the arrival
o f the Street Superintendent or his representative to do the same.
SECTIgN 3~ The Street Superintendent shall keep an account of the cost of
abating said Nuisance in front of ox on each separate lo% or parcel of land
where the work is done by him or his deputies, and shall render a~ itemized
report, in writing~ to the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, showing the
cost of z~moving such weeds on each separate lot, or in front thereof~ or both~
provided that before said repoz~t is $ubmitted to said City Council, a copy of
the same shall be posted for at least three (3) days prior thereto, on or near
the Chamber Door of said City Council, together with a notice of the time when
said report shall be suhuitted to the City Council ~or confi~mation. At
the time fixed for receiving and considering said report, the City Coancil
shall hear the same, together with any objections which may be raised by any
of the property owners liable to be assessed for the work of aba~ing said
nuisance and thereupon make such modifications in the report as they deem
necessary, after which said report shall be confirmed. The amounts of the cost
for abating such nuisance in front of or upon the various parcels of land
mentioned in said report shall constitute special assessments against the
respective parcels of land, and, as is made and confirmed, shall constitute
a lien on said property for the amount of such assessments, respectively, and
thereafter said amounts shall be collected at the same time and in the same
manner as ordinary municipal taxes a~e~[lected and shall he subject to the
same penalties and the same procedure under foreclosure and sale in case of
delinqUency as provided for ordinary municipal taxes.
