CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY SOUTH OF WESTMINSTERAVENUE
ON THE EAST SIDE OF BERRYDALE STREET FOR THE PURPOSE
OF WIDENING BERRYDALE STREET AND DECLARING THE
NECESSITY THEREFOR
WHEREAS, Berrydale Street as it now exists South of Westminster
Avenue is inadequate in width to accommodate the flow of traffic pres-
ently using said street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby find and determine that public interest
and necessity require that Berrydale Street be widened and improved on
the East side, and further require that said City do have, take and
acquire easements for street purposes over, through and across certain
lands in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
described as:
PARCEL 1: The Westerly 50.00 feet of that portion of the
Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 11,
in Township 5 South, Range 10 West, in the Rancho Las Bolsas,
City of Santa Ana, as the Northwesterly portion of said
section is shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 51, Page 12,
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Section 11 and
thence South 190 feet along the West line of said Section to
the true point of beginning; thence Easterly 145.00 feet
parallel with the Northerly line of said Section; thence
Southerly 90.00 feet parallel with the Westerly line of said
Section; thence Easterly 25.00 feet parallel with the Northerly
line of said Section; thence South 134.00 feet parallel with
the Westerly line of said Section; thence Westerly ~0.00 feet
parallel with the Northerly line of said Section to the
Westerly line of said Section; thence Northerly 224.00 feet
along said Westerly line of said Section to the true point of
beginning.
Excepting therefro~ that portion of said W~sterly 50.00 feet
previously dedicated for street purposes.
PARCEL 2A: The Westerly 50.00 feet of that portion of the
Northwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 11, in
Township 5 South, Range 10 West, in the Rancho Las Bolsas, in
the City of Santa Ana, as the Northwesterly portion of said
Section is shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 51, Page 12,
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Section 11, and
thence Easterly 95.00 feet along the North line of said Section;
thence Southerly 190.00 feet parallel with the Westerly line
of said Section; thence Westerly 95.00 feet parallel with the

Northerly line of said Section to the Westerly line of said
Section; thence Northerly 190.00 feet along said Section
line to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom said Westerly 50.00 feet that portion
previously dedicated for street purposes.
PARCEL 2B= The Easterly 25.00 feet of the Westerly 75.00
feet of the Southerly 12.00 feet of the Northerly 52.00 feet
of said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 11.
PARCEL 2C= A spandrel shaped parcel of land bounded Westerly
by the East line of Parcel 2A; bounded Northerly by the South
line of Parcel 2B and bounded Southeasterly by the arc of a
curve concave Southeasterly having a radius of 25.00 feet and
tangent to said Westerly and Northerly boundaries.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED= That the City Attorney is hereby ordered
and directed to bring an action in the name of said City in the Superior
Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Orange, to
condemn said property necessary to be taken as herein ordered and des-
cribed, and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final
determination.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the public interest, necessity and
convenience require, and it is hereby ordered, that the City of Santa
Ana, a municipal corporation, Plaintiff in the condemnation action
ordered herein, take immediate possession and use of the property herein
ordered to be acquired upon compliance with the requirements of the law
applicable thereto; that the City Attorney report to the Director of
Finance the amount of money required thereof, and that the Director of
Finance shall deposit said amount with the Clerk of the Court.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the said action for condemnation
of said property so to be acquired shall be taken in accordance with
the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and the Constitution of
the State of California relating to eminent domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of May,
