Present: Trustees Absent: Trustees William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Orson H. Hunter, Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. None Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of January 5, 1953, reading of the'Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee . Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried. # In Re Ordinance Amend. Application Provision for fences around Junk yards,etc. In Re Ord. No. 1354 Anti-Noise Regulations It was moved by T~ustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, that action on an Ordinance amending "Santa Aha Municipal Code" by adding thereto, Section 42?6.6 requiring solid fence around Junk and salvage yards and Section ~276.7 requiring existing yards to comply with requirement, be deferred until February 16, 1953. On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the follow- ing Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance amending tSanta Aha Municipal Sections 4270 4270.1 Codet by amending . and and repealing 4270.1~" declaring necessity to prohibit noises, was read, considered, designat, Ordinance No. 1354 and pas~ed by the following vote: In Re Resol. None None seconded by Hunter and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha accepting a Grant of Easement for sewer purposes" from Mrs. Cora Bracewell Crandall for the use and benefit of the Citie~ of Santa Ana, Anaheim, Pullerton and Orange, the full and free: right to construct, reconstruct, operate and maintain a sewer llne or lines known as the Joint Outfall Sewer for the conveyance of sewage and waste water to the Pacific Ocean, was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 53-8 and passed by the following vote= Ayes, Trustees Noes, Trustees Absent, Trustees William Jerome, J.L.McBride, 0rson H. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending t Santa Aha Municipal Codet by amending Section 7207.1 to provide minimum width for new streets# was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading The Clerk read communication from the Planning Commission recommending' Eleanor Randall Gran~ to that a variance be granted to/permit construction of a Union Oil Company service station at 617 East 17th Street. Attorney Clark Miller, representing the opponents, requested that action on the variance be postponed for two weeks because of proposed title search of an alleged deed restriction. Attorney Robert L. Corfman, represent- lng the proponents, stated he was not in favor of postponing action. Messrs. Rohrs, Tlpton, Herzig, Woody, Hall and Leiphardt spoke in favor of the variance and Mesdames Wheeler and Blower stated their approval. Attorney Clark Miller presented petitions containing approximately fifty-three names of property owners in the vicinity of Seventeenth and Santiago Streets, protesting the erection of the service station. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the petitions were received and filed. On motion of Trusteel McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance granted to erect a Union Oil Company service station at 617 East Seventeenth Street. Trustees Noes None Trustees Absent None # Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of Tentative Map of Tract No. 1740 subject to the approval of the City Engineer and submitted by D.D.Hillyard for Emmet C. Rogers consisting of Swenty-three lots east of Baker Street on Santa Clara Avenue, Rosewood Avenue and Riviera Drive. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, the recommendation of the Plann-~ Sng Commission was approved and Tentative Map of Tract No. 1740 approved subject to the receipt of a Grant Deed without any reservatioSs to all of that portion of the property lying north of a line parallel to and forty feet southerly from the surveyed center line of the Creeki and described as Lot "A". # Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of Tentative Map of Tract No. 1734, submitted by D.D.Hillyard for Nelson & Casserly, subject to the City Engineer in regard to drainage and easements and that a set-back of 45 feet from the center of the street be established for this Tract. On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by McBride and carried, Tentative Map of Tract No. 1734 was referred to the Planning Commission and the City Engineer was~ instructed to resurvey the property for the purpose of replotting the streets to establish a minimum width of sixty feet.
