OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN WATER
DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND VARIOUS
CITIES AND DISTRICTS WITHIN THE COUNTy OF
ORANGE FOR A JOINT PARTICIPATION IN CONSTRUC-
TION AND USE OF A WATER DELIVERY LINE KNOWN
AS "EAST ORANGE COUNTY FEEDER NO. 2"
WHEREAS, rapid urbanization and new areas presently proposed
for urbanization have created a predictable demand for potable water
in excess of the capacity of the existing lines of the METROPOLITAN
WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, hereinafter called "Metropolitan",
and negotiations have been held for the construction of a new line,
urgently required by sc~e entities, which the City of Santa Ana has
agreed to aid in financing to assist the other parties to this agree-
ment and to insure the availability of future supplies.
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk
of the Council are hereby authorized to execute that certain Joint
powers Agreement for construction, operation and maintenance of "East
Orange County Feeder No. 2" between Metropolitan, Orange County
Municipal Water District, Coastal Municipal Water District, and the
cities of Anaheim and Santa Ana. Resolution 61=110 is hereby rescinded.
