OF A NEW MUNICIPAL BOWL
WHEREAS, the Municipal Bowl, located at Sixth and Flower
Streets, had deteriorated, was temporarily reinforced to permit
short period use and must be abandoned, replaced or relocated in
the near future; and
WHEREAS, after considerable study and public hearings as
to the advisability of constructing a new Bowl and as to potential
sites for the same, the City Council has determined that more
detailed information should be obtained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Manager is
instructed to prepare for presentation to the City Council a plan
and procedure whereby preliminary cost estimates, recc~mendation
as to type of structure, whether steel, concrete or other material,
and preliminary differential cost figures, together with suggested
name or names of architects with engineering staff or associates
may be presented for the information of the City Council. Said
estimates and recommendations are to be based on a presumed con-
struction in the general area bounded by Raitt Street and Segerstrom
Avenue, adjacent to~e Santa Ana River Channel.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of October, 1961.
