ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME OF "SEVENTEENTH AND
WRIGHT N. E.ND. 2 ANNEX" FOR SAID TERRITORY AND GIVING
NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and a map of said territory were
presented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission, and said Commission
approved the Annexation of said Territory, and said description and
map were presented to the Boundary Commission of Orange County,
California, and said Boundary Commission caused to be prepared a
report finding the proposed boundaries to be reasonably definite and
certain.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for Annexation of
Territory herein described to the City of Santa Ana for the following
reasons:
1.) That said territory is in need of municipal services
because of proposed new developments within said territory.
That the proposed developments make it necessary that this
area have immediate access to sanitary sewers without
burdening the land with high bonded indebtedness, and
that all other economic advantages resulting from such
annexation must be available to said land to insure the
success of said developments.
2.) That the area can best be served by the City of Santa
Ana with municipal services of the highest quality anywhere
obtainable.
3.) That it is to the mutual advantage of the land owners
and the City of Santa Ana that said territory become a
part of said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described under
the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939,

and hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited
within the meaning of California Government Code Section 35303 on
the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is
contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, lies in the County of Orange,
State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at a point 180.00 feet North 0° 02' 00" East
from the intersection of the centerlines of Seventeenth
Street and Wright Street as shown on a Record of Survey
map, filed in Book 8, page 24, of Records of Surveys in the
office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California,
said point being an angle point in the city boundary of the
City of Santa Ana, California and running along the follow-
ing three courses, bearings based on said centerline of
Wright Street as being North 0° 02' 00" East as shown on
said Record of Survey map; thence North 0° 02' 00" East
along said centerline of Wright Street 876.00 feet; thence
North 89° 58' 20" East 830.01 feet; thence North 0° 02' 00"
East 528.00 feet; thence Easterly 834.52 feet, more or less,
to a point in the West line of Lot 9, Block A of the A. B.
Chapman Tract as surveyed by Frank Le Couvreur in December
of 1870, described according to map of Survey filed in
Book 9, page 39, Records of Surveys in said office of the
County Recorder of Orange County, said point being 264.49
feet, Northerly from the Southwest corner of said Lot 9;
thence Southerly along the West line of said Lot 9 a distance
of 264.49 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 9; thence
Easterly along the South line of said Lot 9 a distance of
664.62 feet, more or less, to a point in the Southerly exten-
sion of the West line of the "Royal and Rosetta Mueller"
property as shown on a Record of Survey map, filed in Book 6,
page 2, Records of Survey in said office of the County
Recorder of Orange County and thence, along the following
six courses the bearings of which are based on the centerline
of Tustin Street as being North 0° 21'45" West as shown on
said Record of Survey map, North 0° 17' 25" West 542.50 feet,
more or less, to the Northwest corner of said "Royal and
Rosetta Mueller" property; thence North 89° 49' 15" East
1132.10 feet, more or less, to the West line of Tustin Street,
60.00 feet wide; thence South 0° 21' 45" East along a line
parallel with and 30 feet Westerly, measured at right angles,
from the centerline of said Tustin Street 1190.95 feet, more
or less, to an angle point in the City boundary of said City
of Santa Aha; thence North 88° 45' West along said City
boundary 148.50 feet, more or less, to an angle point in said
City boundary; thence North 77° 45' West along said city
boundary 63.36 feet, more or less, to an angle point in said
City boundary; thence North 48° 30' West along said City
boundary 128.70 feet, more or less, to an angle point in said
City boundary and to the Northwest corner of that certain
property conveyed to Elmer Le Roy Benson and wife as recorded
August 12, 1946 in Book 1444, page 266, Official Records of
said Orange County; thence Southerly along the West line of
said Benson property and along said City boundary 719.00 feet,
more or less, to a line 40.00 feet Northerly, measured at
right angles, from the centerline of Seventeenth Street and
to an angle point in said City boundary; thence Westerly along
said City boundary 2,126.50 feet, more or less, to the Northerly
extension of the centerline of Mabury Street and to an angle
point in said City boundary; thence Southerly along said City
boundary and along the Northerly extension of said centerline
of Mabury Street 40.00 feet to the centerline of Seventeenth

Street and to an angle point in said City boundary; thence
Westerly along said centerline of Seventeenth Street and
along said City boundary 538.70 feet, more or less, to an
angle point in said City boundary; thence Northerly along
said City boundary 180.00 feet to an angle point in said
City boundary; thence Westerly along said City boundary
509.00 feet to said centerline of Wright Street and to the
true point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "Seventeenth and Wright N. E.
N~2 Annex" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
October 3, 1960, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against this
Annexation made by any person owning property within said territory.
At any time before said hour any owner of property within said terri-
tory may file written protest against this proposed Annexation. Such
protest shall state the name of the owner of the property affected and
the description and area of the property in general terms, all as pro-
vided for in Section 35312 of the Government Code of the State of
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of August, 1960.
