SANTA ANA RESOLUTION NO. 6.~-160 URGING THAT THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA SUBMIT WITHOUT DELAY A CONTRACT
FO~vI FOR DELIVERY OF NORTHERN WATER TO THE METRO-
POLITAN WATER DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is a member of and a user of
water from The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California,
which said District is reported to be in negotiation with the
California State Water Resources Department for a contract providing
for the delivery of water fro~ Northern California by means of the
facilities to be constructed and financed under the program known
as the Feather River Project, which Project has as one of its major
purposes the delivery of domestic and irrigation water to Southern
California; and
WHEREAS, the desirability of early agreement on the form of
such contract would seem apparent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana that Governor Edmund G. Brown is hereby requested to
urge or instruct the State officials engaged in water contract nego-
tiations to prepare and submit a proposed form of contract with The
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California governing and
regulating the delivery of water to the South long prior to the
general State Election to be held November 8, 1960.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of August , 1960.
