P~ESOLUTION NO. 60-179 APPROVING MAP AND
DECLARING INTENTION TO VACATE A STRIP OF LAND
FOURTEEN FEET WIDE RUNNING NORTH FROM FIRST
STREET WEST OF TOWNSEND STREET WHICH HAS BEEN
A PUBLIC SEWER EASemeNT
WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Department of
Public Works, and after study, the City Council has determined
that the sewer easement herein described is probably unnecessary
for present or future sewer purposes and should be abandoned.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
hereby adopts the map attached hereto and orders that the same
filed as a part of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk
of the Council, and reference is hereby made to said map for
particulars as to the sewer easement vacation herein proposed,
and the City Council declares its intention to vacate for public
sewer purposes the easement located in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, and described as:
A strip of land 14 feet in width, being 7 feet on
each side, measured at right angles from the following
described line:
Beginning at a point on the center line of First
Street in the City of Santa Aha which bears South 89°
29' 00" West 1031.34 feet from the monumented inter-
section of the center lines of said First Street and
Daisy Street and running thence North 00° 07' 00"
West 87S.86 feet; thence North 89° 28' 30" West 40.00
feet, said 14 foot strip being bounded Southerly by a
line which is parallel with and 52 feet Northerly,
measured at right angles, from said center line of
First Street. Excepting therefrom that portion thereof
lying within a strip of land 20 feet in width, the
center line of which is described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly
extended center line of West Second Street with the
Westerly line of Townsend Street as shown on a map of
the Fisher Tract, filed in Miscellaneous Map Book 4,
Page 90, Records of Orange County, California; and
running thence Westerly in a straight line parallel to
said West First Street to a point 1100 feet.
Also Excepting therefrom that portion thereof lying
within a strip of land 20 feet in width, the center line
of which is described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the Westerly
extended center line of West '~nird Street with the
Westerly line of Townsend Street as shown on a map of the
Fisher Tract, filed in Miscellaneous Map Book 4, Page 90,
Records of Orange County, California; and running thence
Westerly in a straight line parallel to said West First
Street to a point 1100 feet.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the 7th day of November, 1960,
at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third
and 14ain Streets, Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the
time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting
to said vacation, and the City Council declares its intention to
proceed with said vacation under the provisions of the public Service
Easements Vacation Law (Government Code, Sections 50430 through
50445).
The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish a
copy of this Resolution in the Register for at least two successive
weeks prior to the hearing, and the Director of Public Works is
hereby ordered to post conspicuously along the lines of said
easement notices stating the adoption of this Resolution and giving
notice of the time and place of hearing as set out herein. Said
notices shall be posted not more than three hundred feet apart and
at least three notices shall be posted. Said notices shall be
posted at least 15 days before the date of said hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of September,1960.
