HomeMy WebLinkAbout60-203RESOLUTION NO. ~Q-203 COMMENDING THE DOWNTOWN SANTA ANAASSOCIATION FOR ITS ACTIVE AND PRO- GRESSIVE INTEREST IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT AND IN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY WHEREAS, the merchants, professional, engineering and other service people located in the Central Business District of the City of Santa Ana have formed the Downtown Santa Ana Association, dedi- cated to the preservation and development of downtown Santa Aha property, business, conmlercial, and professional activities; have established an Executive Committee and Officers for said Association, and appear to show an enlightened and continuing interest in the welfare of their City and in the function of Santa Ana City Government; and WHEREAS, in the furtherance of their interest in City Government have dedicated some of their members to attend the meetings of the City Council of Santa Ana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, speaking for itself and the Employees' Group of the City, hereby commends the Downtown Santa Ana Association for its enlightened self interest and for its program of having representatives attend the regular meetings of said City Council. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Council hereby congratulates and commends Mr. Wendell Finley, as a representative of said Association, and Mr. Hal Winter, the Manager of said Association, for their attendance at the regular meeting of said City Council held October 3rd, 1960, and expresses the hope that on a rotating basis each of the members of said Association will attend a meeting of said Council, for only with an interested and informed electorate can a democracy operate at its best. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of 1960.
