RESOLUTION OF '±'~ COUNCIL OF Tti~ CITY OF SANTA ANA
REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF 0RANGE TO INCLUDE WESTIN
~i'~ ART~IAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM '£~u~ DEVELOPI~NT
OF BRISTOL STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve Bristol Street from Santiago
Creek to Memory Lane, and
WHEREAS, Bristol Street is an important artery in the County of Orange
and of general County interest, and
W~iEi~EAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires~ to expend funds apportioned to
it out of the California Eighway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in
the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1961-62
a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the
County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Co~cil of the City of Santa Aha
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said
City from County Funds the amount of $10, 000. 00~ said amount to be matched by funds
from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Bristol Street
from Santiago Creek Bridge to Memory Lane, ard for the acquisition of necessary rights
of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with
the attached project statement;
~E IT FURT~R RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is
hereby requested to find that said work and acquisit'ion of rights of way on Bristol
Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FUR~'~MM I~SOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aua agrees
with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highwa~vs Financing Program; and further agrees
that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the
Fiscal Year 1961-62.
