A FRAMEWORK AND GUIDE TO ASSIST IN THE FUTURE
PLANNING AND GROWTH OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana City Charter and Santa Ana Municipal
Code require the proparation of a General Plan for the future
physical develotanent of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Planning Commission has prepared and
adopted a General Plan, which is the result of two years' study,
research, and analysis, and has recommended that the City Council
adopt said General Plan; and
WHEREAS, said General Plan constitutes a rational and
flexible set of standards and policy guides for the numerous and
complex decisions resulting from rapid growth; and
WHEREAS, said General Plan also provides a framework for the
most efficient expenditure of public funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby approves and adopts as the General Plan for
the City those certain proposals recommended by the Planning
Commission as the result of study by the Planning staff, numerous
specialists, groups of citizens, and individual citizens, which said
General Plan shall consist of certain maps entitled "Land Use and
Arterial Streets" and "Parks, Open Space, Schools and Community
Facilities", and.the documents entitled "Engineering Report on
Sewerage Facilities for the City of Santa Ana, California" and
"Drainage".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council also approves
the four documents entitled, "Technical Workbooks" (Numbers 1 through 4)
and all related maps and studies as the statistical and analytical
supplement to said General Plan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section 9122,
Part 2, Chapter 1, Article IX, of the Santa Aha Municipal Code, the
said proposals are hereby adopted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of ~, 1966.
