OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RECOMMENDING
APPOINTMENT OF R. A. DAILY TO THE SANTA ANA
RIVER BASIN REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL
BOARD
WI~EREkS, Mr. Marvin Gade has tendered his resignation to
Governor Reagan as the industrial representative on the Santa
Ana River Basin Regional Water Qualit~ Control Board, by reason
of his transfer by his employer to a new project in South Carolina;
and
WHEREAS, Orange County is located in the lower and coastal
portion of the Santa Ana River watershed; and
WHEREAS, it is of vital economic importance that the water
which comes to Orange County from the upper portion of the watershed
be maintained in a usable quality; and
WHEREAS, it is most important that the industrial representa-
tive on the Santa Ana River Basin Regional Water Quality Control
Board be experienced in the handling of waste discharges for
disposal; and
WHEREAS, Mr. R. A. Daily, Plant Manager of General Motors'
Delco-Remy Battery Manufacturing Plant in Anaheim, California, has
been personally involved in the water treatment and water reclamation
activity of Delco-Remy, in their Anaheim and other plants, and is
technically competent in this field;
NOW, THEREFOPdE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby recommend to Governor Ronald Reagan
the appointment of Mr. R. A. Daily to the Santa Ana River Basin
Regional Water Quality Control Board.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of April, 1967.
