COMMISSION TO APPROVE A REGULARLY SCHEDULED
AIRLINE SERVICE FROM ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT
TO SACRAMENTO VIA SAN FRANCISCO
WHEREAS, Orange County has become a major metropolitan area
and the fastest growing county in the United States, being now the
second most populous county in California; and
WHEREAS, because of its tremendous rate of industrial and
commercial growth and recognizing the continuing importance of
Sacramento activity to business and to local governmental agencies,
particularly now that the legislature meets annually; and
WHEREAS, Orange County citizens have invested a great deal
of money to expand the Orange County airport and to provide the
necessary facilities for medium and short range c~ercial flights;
and
WHEREAS, because of the problems of over-crowded conditions
at International Airport, Los Angeles, and because the time required
to drive to International Airport is greater than that required to
fly to Sacramento; and
WHEREAS, it is felt highly desirable to bring much needed
service and financial return to the taxpayers of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, we strongly support the free enterprise competitive
system,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That we urge the Public
Utilities Commission to grant the application to provide a schedule
frem Orange County Airport to Sacramento via San Francisco; and
we urge approval of this flight schedule as soon as possible for
the benefit of businessmen and other citizens of Orange County.
