HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-069RESOLUTION NO. 67-69 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO PROPOSED ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 369: COMPULSORY APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING FOR MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES WHEREkS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has become aware of the nature and content of Assembly Bill No. 369; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the training of all municipal employees is strictly a matter of local concern and not statewide concern; and WHEREAS, the required provision of apprenticeship training programs for employees of the City of Santa Ana is not needed and would cause excessive and unnecessary expense for our taxpayers; and WHEREAS, the Council believes that this Bill would violate the principles of "home rule". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa hereby expresses its opposition to Assembly Bill No. 369. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of May, 1967.
