COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF LOS ANGELES
CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION REGARDING
LOCAL CONTROL OF ZONING AND ATTENDANT
MATTERS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has been
furnished a copy of the attached Resolution of the City Council
of the City of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, to the extent the said Resolution refers to general
principles and policies, this Council is in agreement; and
WHEREAS, this Council strongly advocates principles of
"home rule" and is opposed to all efforts to diminish this concept;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana supports the position taken by the City Council
of the City of Los Angeles, as reflected in the attached Resolution,
pertaining to the maintenance of zoning and attendant matters as
local functions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That copies of this Resolution be
furnished to the City of Los Angeles, the League of California Cities,
Orange County Assemblymen and State Senators, and to Governor
Ronald Reagan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of May, 1967.
