HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-127RESOLUTION 67-127 TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO ENCOURAGE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AIRLINE SERVICE BETWEEN THE ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT AND THE SAN JOSE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WHEREAS, Orange County is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States; and WHEREAS, increase in industry and commerce has made Orange County one of the leading manufacturing counties, particularly in the critical defense and aerospace industries; and WHEREAS, because of this tremendous growth there is a present and continuing need for increased air service to other points in the state; and WHEREAS, there is a large community of interest between Orange County and Alameda and Santa Clara Counties in Northern California; and WHEREAS, it would serve the convenience and necessity of the citizens of Orange County to have service to San Jose Municipal Airport and Oakland International Airport. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana urges the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California to grant an application to provide service between Oakland International Airport, San Jose Municipal Airport and Orange County Airport at the soonest possible time for the benefit of the businessmen and other citizens of Orange County.
