OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO PERMIT THE COUNTY CLERK
OF SAID COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF A
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY
ON OCTOBER 10, 1967
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election is to be held in the
City of Santa Ana on October 10, 1967; and
WHEREAS, in the course of the conduct of said election, and
in relation thereto, it will be necessary to mail sample ballots
and polling place inserts to the registered voters of the City;
and it will facilitate such mailing if the County Clerk of the
County of Orange will prepare and furnish the City with the imprintings
of the names and addresses of the registered voters of said City on
I.B.M. polling place inserts furnished by the City; and after bursting
the forms, will insert the polling place inserts and sample ballots
into envelopes, all to be furnished by the City; and will place all
envelopes in zip-coded mail bags, advise Clerk of the Council of the
number of pieces to be mailed, prepare POD Form 360~ "Statement of
Mailing Matter with Permit Imprints"; and advise the Clerk of the
Council when the work is complete so delivery to the Post Office can
be arranged; and
WHEREAS, all necessary expenses incurred in the performance
of this service shall be paid by the City of Santa Ana;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha that pursuant to the provisions of Section 22003 of
the Elections Code of the State of California, this City Council hereby
requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to permit
the County Clerk to prepare and furnish to said City, for use in
conducting said Election to be held on October 10, 1967, the imprinting
of the names and addresses of the registered voters of said City on
I.B.M. polling place inserts furnished by the City and, after bursting
the forms, to insert the polling place inserts and sample ballots into
envelopes, all to be furnished by the City, to place all envelopes in
zip-coded mail bags, advise the Clerk of the Council of the number of
pieces to be mailed, to prepare POD Form 3602, "State~ent of Mailing
Matter with Permit Imprints", and to advise the Clerk of the Council
when the work is complete so delivery to the Post Office can be
arranged;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City shall reimburse the
County of Orange for the services performed when the work is completed
and upon presentation to the City of a properly approved bill;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby
.directed to forward without delay a certified copy of this Resolution
to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County and to the County Clerk.
