SUPERVISORS TO DELAY CONSIDERATION OF
ESTABLISHMENT OF REFUSE TRANSFER FEES
PENDING LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES REPORT
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Orange County will
shortly be considering the feasibility of initiating a fee upon
the transfer of solid wastes at the county's refuse transfer
stations; and
WHEREAS, diametrically opposed views have been voiced upon
the subject of the propriety of such a fee system; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Division of the League of
California Cities has appointed a committee to study in depth the
question of transfer fees as sought by the Administrative Coodinator
of Orange County, and as opposed by the Road Commissioner and
County Surveyor of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, it is the view of this the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana that as much enlightenment upon the question
should be sought as is possible to procure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the Board of Super-
visors of Orange County is hereby requested to continue its
consideration of the feasibility of establishing fees for the
transfer of solid waste at the county's refuse transfer stations
until such time as the special committee of the Orange County
Division of the League of California Cities shall have fully
considered the problem and rendered its report and recommendations.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of August,
1967.
