HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-183RESOLUTION 67-183 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ENDORSING THE ORANGE COUNTY CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC TO BE HELD AT THE COSTA MESA GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB ON NOVEMBER 5, 1967. WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club comprises two golf courses situated in the City of Costa Mesa on the edge of the State of California Fairview Hospital grounds; and WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club is in a position to be able to help the physically and mentally handi- capped child by sponsoring the Orange County Celebrity Golf Classic on November 5, 1967, whereby 90 per cent of the ticket sales will be contributed to charities; and WHEREAS, among the charities throughout Orange County deriving benefit from the proceeds will be: Fairview State Hospital; March of Dimes; Muscular Dystrophy Association; Orange Coast Chapter of California Association for Neurologically Handicapped Children; Orange County Association for Retarded Children; Orange County Auxiliary of the John Tracy Clinic; South Coast Child Guidance Clinic (Harbor Auxiliary); South Coast Child Guidance Clinic; Services for the Blind; and Hope Haven School; and WHEREAS, many celebrities will participate in the Orange county Celebrity Golf Classic and have pledged their time and efforts to make this a successful first for Costa Mesa. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, hereby unanimously supports this deserving cause and hereby commends the Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club for its contribution to the many charities in Orange County; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all citizens of Santa Ana and Orange County are hereby urged to support the Orange County Celebrity Golf Classic.
