OF GRAND AVENUE BETWEEN SIXTH STREET AND
WASHINGTON AVENUE AND PROHIBITING PARKING
IN SAID AREA
WHEREAS, Grand Avenue has become one of the more heavily
travelled streets in the City of Santa Ana and carries increasing
volumes of traffic; and
WHEREAS, considerable delay and hazard are created wherever
a vehicle has to wait in a traffic lane for an opportunity to make
a left turn; and
WHEREAS, the installation of left turn storage lanes in
conjunction with the removal of curbside parking is effective in
reducing such traffic delay and hazard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Grand Avenue be provided
with left turn storage lanes for Fruit Street and Washington Avenue
and that parking be prohibited on the east side of Grand Avenue from
84 feet north of the center line of Fruit Street to 545 feet south
of the center line of Fruit Street and on the west side of Grand
Avenue from a point 74 feet north of the center line of Stafford
Street to a point 237 feet south of the center line of Stafford
Street;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That parking is hereby prohibited
between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. and between the hours
of 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. on the west side of Grand Avenue from
Fruit Street to a point 117 feet north of the center line of Fruit
Street.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of November, 1967.
