PORTION OF SIXTH STREET BETWEEN FLOWER AND
GARNSEY STREETS, RESERVING EASEMENTS THEREIN
FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES
WHEREAS, at the request of the Civic Center Commission and
on the recommendation of the Department of Public Works and the
Planning Commission of the City of Santa Aha, Resolution 68-68 was
adopted giving notice of intention to vacate that portion of Sixth
Street lying between Flower and Garnsey Streets; and
WHEREAS, on June 3rd, 1968, public hearing was duly held on
said vacation on posted notices and the publication of said
Resolution 68-68;
NOW, THEREFOP~E, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that that portion of Sixth Street
lying between Flower and Garnsey Streets is unnecessary for present
or prospective street purposes and does hereby make its order
abandoning and vacating for street purposes that certain right of
way in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
That portion of Sixth Street bounded westerly by a line parallel
and 53.00 feet easterly, measured at right angles, with the
center line of Flower Street as shown on a map recorded in Book 85,
Page 2, Records of Survey, in the office of the County Recorder
of Orange County, California, and bounded easterly by the westerly
line of Garnsey Street as shown on said Records of Survey;
RESERVING AN EASEMENT and right of way , 5.00 feet in width, the
center line of which is 26.50 feet southerly, from the center line
of said street to construct, place, operate, inspect, maintain,
repair, replace, and remove such aerial and underground telephone,
telegraph and communication structures as the Pacific Telephone
Company may, from time to time, require, consisting of poles,
anchors, wires, cables, conduits, manholes, markers, and necessary
fixtures and appurtenances;
ALSO RESERVING AN EASEMENT and right of way, 5.00 feet in width,
the center line of which is 24.00 feet southerly, from the center
line of said street to construct, place, operate, inspect, main-
tain, repair, replace, remove, and enlarge lines of pipe and
other structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas
lines as the Southern Counties Gas Company may, from time to time,
require;
ALSO RESERVING AN EASEMENT and right of way, 10.00 feet in width,
the center line of which is 20.00 feet northerly, from the center
line of said street for a potable water main for the City of
Santa Ana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of June, 1968.
