HomeMy WebLinkAbout68-102RESOLUTION 68-102 CHANGING THE NAME OF A PORTION OF ALTON STREET TO ALTON AVENUE WHEREAS, there exists in the City of Santa Ana an east- west thoroughfare which bears the name of Alton Street and Alton Avenue, and in order to give the street in question a consistent name throughout the City and to observe the City's policy of naming east-west thoroughfares "avenues," the Planning Commission and the Department of Public ~orks have reccmunended the street name change herein set out. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the name of Alton Street between Main Street and the Newport Freeway be changed to Alton Avenue to avoid confusion on the part of the public and emergency services. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Director of Public Works is instructed to place street name signs on Alton Avenue to show the name heretofore used for said street and the new hame herein designated for said street, and said combination street name signs shall be maintained for at least six months from the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of July, 1968.
