THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY P~ECORDS
WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council has custody of certain
records, all of which were created prior to 1962, and has requested
perraission to destroy the same; and
W/{EREAS, the City Attorney has rendered hisopinion that there
is no need for the retention of said records and has given his
written consent to the destruction thereof;
in the
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That those certain records
custody of the Clerk of the Council described as follows:

are hereby declared to be unnecessary for retention in the office
of the Clerk, and this city Council hereby gives its approval for
the destruction of said records.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said records shall be surrendered
by the Clerk of the Council to the Director of the Bowers Museum for
determination by him as to whether or not said records may have
historical source material value and should be retained by said
Museum, and he is authorized for and on behalf of the Clerk of the
Council to destroy any or all of said records which, in his opinion,
do not have such value.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of July, 1968.
