PROPERTIES BETWEEN THE CITY AND JOHN R. AND
JO ANN HAYES INVOLVING PROPERTY EAST OF LOGAN
STREET AND NORTH OF FRUIT STREET RESULTING IN
A CASH CONSIDERATION OF $21,000 DUE TO JOHN R.
AND JO ANN HAYES
WHEREAS, JOHN R. HAYES and JO ANN HAYES, husband and wife, have
executed a deed dated January 15, 1969, conveying to the City of Santa
Ana real property on the east side of Logan Street north of Fruit Street,
and a temporary easement to be used in conjunction with the demolition
of existing improvements, together with all vehicular access rights to
the lands lying northwesterly of the southeasterly line of said property,
for a cash consideration of $21,500; in exchange for which the City will
convey to the said John R. Hayes and Jo Ann Hayes, husband and wife as
joint tenants, other real property which has been declared surplus and
is adjacent to the real property being conveyed to the City, which
adjacent property has a cash value of $500; the sale of this property
was authorized by the City Council on January 20, 1969; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has agreed to pay to John R.
and Jo Ann Hayes the difference in equity of the interest in real
property being exchanged hereby in the amount of $21,000; and

WHEREAS, said transaction is to be handled through Escrow
Number 56055-C with Security Title Insurance Company, Santa Ana,
California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana
accepts said deed from John R. Hayes and Jo Ann Hayes granting to the
City of S~nta Ana the following described property:
PARCEL 1:
That portion of Lot 15, Block E, Hawkin's Addition to Santa Ana,
in the city of Santa Ana, as shown on a map recorded in Book 13,
page 26, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot 15; thence Southerly
along the West line of said Lot 15 a distance of 42.99 feet; thence
Northeasterly in a straight line to a point on the North line of
said Lot 15 which is 92.18 feet Easterly from said Northwest corner;
thence Westerly along the North line of said Lot 15 a distance of
92.18 feet to the point of beginning; including all vehicular access
rights to the lands lying Northwesterly of the Southeasterly line
of the above-described property.
PARCEL 2:
A temporary easement to be used in conjunction with the demolition
of existing improvements over the following described property:
That portion of Lot 15, Block E, Hawkin's Addition to Santa Ana,
in the City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map recorded in Book 13,
page 26, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the West line of said Lot 15 distant
Southerly 42.99 feet from the Northwest corner of said Lot 15;
thence Northeasterly in a straight line to a point on the North
line of said Lot 15 which is 92.18 feet Easterly from said North-
west corner; thence Easterly a distance of 32.82 feet to the
Northeast corner of said Lot 15; thence Southerly a distance of
50.00 feet; thence Westerly a distance of 125.00 feet; thence
Northerly along the West line of said Lot 15 a distance of 7.01
feet to the point of beginning;
E~CEPTING THEREFROM the Easterly 50 feet thereof.
Said temporary easement shall cease to exist and all rights
thereto will revert to the record owners as their interests
appear of record upon completion and acceptance by the City
of Santa Ana of said demolition of existing improvements, and
in any event not later than June 1, 1969.
and Carl J Thornton, the City's designated agent, is directed to place
his Certificate of Acceptance on said deed;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of the
Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute a deed for and
on behalf of the City of Santa Ana granting to JOHN R. HAYES and
JO ANN HAYES that certain real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
That portion of Lot 14 in Block "E" of Hawkins Addition to Santa
Ana, in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
as shown on a map recorded in book 13, page 26 of Miscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the South line of said Lot 14 which is
32.82 feet Westerly from the Southeasterly corner of said Lot 14
and running thence Easterly along said South line 32.82 feet to
said Southeast corner; thence Northerly along the East line of
said Lot 14 a distance of 15.79 feet to a point; thence South-
westerly in a straight line to the point of beginning,
and deliver the same to John R. Hayes and Jo Ann Hayes at 636 So.

at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of January, 1969.
