7th AND 8th S~REETS TO CIVIC CENTER DRIVE WEST;
PORTIONS OF 7th STREET, STAFFORD STREET, AND LINCOLN
AVENUE TO CIVIC CENTER DRIVE EAST; AND PORTIONS OF
4th, 6th, AND FRUIT STREE~ TO SANTA ANA BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, on recommendation of the Planning Commission, the
City Council has determined that it would be in the best interests
of the City of Santa Ana to change the names of certain portions
of existing streets to permit more appropriate names to be used to
identify such streets as pertaining to the Civic Center development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby change the name of 8th Street,
from Fairview Street to Broadway, to CIVIC CENTER DRIVE WEST,
effective immediately;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana does hereby change the name of 7th Street, from Sycamore
Street to Main Street, to CIVIC CENTER DRIVE WEST, effective upon
completion of connecting portions to the west and east;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana does hereby change the names of 7th Street, from Main
Street to Spurgeon Street; Stafford Street, from French Street to
Custer Street; and Lincoln Avenue, from Washington Avenue to 17th
Street, to CIVIC CENTER DRIVE EAST, effective upon completion of
connecting portions;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the city Council of the City
of Santa Ana does hereby change the names of 4th Street, from Raitt
Street to Van Ness Avenue; 6th Street, from Ross Street to French
Street; and Fruit Street, from French Street to Santiago Street,
to SANTA ANA BOULEVARD, effective upon completion of the present
West Diagonal contract;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Director of Public Works
is instructed to place street name signs, when these name changes
become effective, to show the nam~heretofore used for said streets
and the new names herein designated for said streets, and said
combination street name signs shall be maintained for at lease six
(6) months from the effective dates of said street name changes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of March, 1969.
