DEED TO PEARL H. SAMPLE AND A GRANT OF EASEMENT TO
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY WITH NO CASH
CONSIDERATION
WHEREAS, heretofore, PEARL H. SAMPLE dedicated to the City
an easement for the widening of Bristol Street; and
WHEREAS, the legal description of said easement erroneously
included a 10-foot by 48-foot parcel of land lying in the interior
of the grantor's land; and
WHEREAS, in order to remove the encumbrance from the title
of said grantor it is necessary that the City quitclaim to said
grantor that portion of the land erroneously included within the
description; and
WHEREAS, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a corporation.
has requested an easement for the purpose of furnishing electrical
energy to the East Reservoir site west of Grand Avenue, south of
Edinger Avenue, on order placed by the City of Santa Ana for such
service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the
Clerk of the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute
a deed quitclaiming to PEARL H. SAMPLE the following described
property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California:
The easterly 10 feet of Lot 42 of Tract No. 758, in the City
of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of california, as per
map recorded in Book 23, Page 26, of Miscellaneous Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County;
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the north 72 feet.
and deliver the same into Escrow No. 475182-LH with Title Insurance
and Trust Company;
BE IT FURTF~ER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of
the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute that
certain Grant of Easement, margin dated September 30, 1968, bearing
identification numbers 8-2178 and 8-0521, to the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
EDISON COMPANY for the sole purpose of conveying electrical energy
to be used by the City of Santa Ana for the operation of the City's
East~Reservoir.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of March,
