AN AIRPORT LAND USE COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Orange County Division of the League of
california Cities has recommended that pursuant to the authority
granted by Section 21670 of the Public utilities Code an Airport
Land Use Commission be created, into which the function of the
existing Airport Commission be merged; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana feels
that such action would not benefit the citizens of Santa Ana, but
would, in fact, dilute its representation in matters with which
such commission would deal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the city Council of
the City of Santa Ana is of the opinion that adequate provision
exists for a continuing review of land use surrounding airports
through the instrumentality of the Airport Commission; and that
therefore it opposes the creation of an Airport Land Use Commission
contemplated by Section 21670 of the Public Utilities Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of May, 1969.
