OFFERING TO PURCHASE FIVE PARCELS OF TAX
DEEDED PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the Tax collector of Orange County, California, is
about to sell certain real property located within the City of
Santa Ana, a municipal corporation, which said real property is
needed by the City of Santa Ana for street and drainage purposes,
WHEREAS, The City of Santa Ana is a taxing agency, the taxes
of which City are collected by the County of Orange through the
offices of the County Tax collector, and unpaid taxes resulting in
the tax sales of the properties herein specifically referred to has
resulted in part from taxes levied by said City on said specific
parcels of real property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana objects to the proposed sale of said specific
parcels of real property for the reasDn that said parcels are needed
by the City of Santa Ana for street and drainage purposes and should
not be sold to private ownership; that a sale to private ownership
would require said city to proceed by an action in eminent domain
to acquire said property for street~and drainage purposes;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of
the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute the
Agreement entered into between the City and the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Orange for the purchase of said parcel
of real property by the City of Santa Ana; a copy of said
Agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the city of Santa Ana agrees
to pay the price shown on Exhibit A of said Agreement and set
opposite the description of the parcel of real property and to
pay the cost of giving notice of said Agreement as provided for
in Section 3800 of the california Revenue and Taxation Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the city of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of May, 1969.
