HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-092RESOLUTION 69-92 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO ANY STATE LEGISLATION CURTAILING THE EXISTING CONCEPT OF HOME RULE WHEREAS, numerous bills are now pending before the State Legislature which, if passed, would seriously affect the "Home Rule" concept of California local government; and WHEREAS, it is the belief of the city Council of the City of Santa Aha and of the citizens of the community which they represent that the concept of "Home Rule" should be fostered and nurtured rather than diminished or extinguished; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: That any and all State legislation presently pending before either the Assembly or the Senate which would in any way, or in any form, or to any extent, diminish, curtail, or modify the existing concept of home rule be vigorously opposed. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of June, 1969.
