AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS
IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 62-217
WHEREAS, certain drawings giving detailed data about certain
portions of street improvements have been previously adopted by
Resolution No. 62-217; and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of the development of good engineering
and construction techniques many of said drawings have been revised
and other new drawings have been developed by the Department of
Public Works; and
WHEREAS, these drawings are presently in use within the
City, and the City Council has determined that the same should be
made the official standards for the City as authorized by Santa
Ana Municipal Code Section 7201; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Chapters of the American
Public Works Association (APWA) and the Associated General
Contractors of America (AGC) have jointly prepared "STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS" after years of research and effort
to develop area-wide construction standards and thereby achieve
greater economies in construction by public agencies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That those certain numbered drawings hereinafter listed
are hereby adopted as the Standard Drawings and the same are hereby
declared to be the minimum Improvement Standards for all Public
Works improvements within the City of Santa Ana:

2. That copies of said standards are on file and shall be
maintained for examination by the public in the offices of the
Director of Public Works, the Planning Director, and the Clerk of
the Council, and that said Standard Drawings shall be reproduced
and made available for sale to the public in pamphlet form by the
Department of Public Works;
3. That "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS
CONSTRUCTION" as written and promulgated by Southern california
Chapters of APWA and AGC is hereby adopted as the standard speci-
fications for public works construction in the City of Santa Ana
with minor modifications on a project basis as may be provided
by the Director of Public Works in Special Provisions for each
contract;
4. That copies of said standard specifications are on file
and shall be maintained for examination by the public in the office
of the Director of Public Works and further that copies shall be
made available for sale to the public by referral to Building News,
Inc., 3055 Overland Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90034, publishers
of said standard specifications;
5. That Resolution No. 62-217 is hereby rescinded.
