ON PROJECT 7007 AND DIRECTING SAID WORK TO BE
PERFORMED BY CITY PERSONNEL
WHEREAS, the City staff estimated that the cost of Project
7007 (Reconstruction of Valencia Street Crossing and Parking
Area at Santiago Park) would be $4,360.00; and
WHEREAS, four (4) contractors submitted bids, the lowest
of which was $6,493.00, approximately 50% greater than the
City's estimate; and
WHEREAS, the City staff has concluded that the work may
be done more economically by City employees under the supervision
of the Director of Public Works;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That all bids upon the
above mentioned job are hereby rejected and the City staff is
directed to do the construction work in accordance with the
plans and specifications already developed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of August, 1969.
