HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-015RESOLUTION 70-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE CITY OF LONDON, GREAT BRITAIN WHEREAS, for generations there has existed a close bond of respect and admiration between our two great countries; and WHEREAS, this tie of friendship and devotion was never more perfectly demonstrated than in the second World War, when our countries reciprocated in their support for one another; and WHEREAS, this same type of attitude persists to this day; and WHEREAS, we look to Great Britain, and to London, its capital, as sources of strength and alliance and as representatives of those dedicated to the preservation of world freedom; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and, in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal authorities of the City of London, Great Britain; 2. That the City Council further expresses its sincere hope and expectation that the mutually beneficial and peaceful relationship existing between our two countries will continue unabated. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1970.
