HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-030WHEREAS, RESOLUTION 70-30 FIXING CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE INSTALLATION A-ND ~SCINDING RESOLUTION 68-157 there are certain expenses involved in installing different sized water services by a water utility~ and .WHEREAS, the Water Utility wishes to recover said expenses from the applicant instead of assessing the general consumer for these new installations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following charges are to be collected, before installation, for each water service installed after October 16, 1968, as provided for in Section 7402 of Ordinance No. NS-936. A. WATER SERVICE SIZE OF SERVICE IN TRACTS OF 5 OR MORE LOTS COST OF SERVICE INSTALLATION IN TRACTS OF FOUR OR LESS LOTS OR SINGLE INSTALLATIONS 3/4" $ 40.00 $ 75.00 1" $ 60.00 $100.00 1/2" $235.00 $275.00 2" $285 00 $325.00 The charge for moving a service meter 15 feet or less shall be one-half of the installation charge and for moving a service meter over 15 feet the charge shall be the same as for a new installation. The charge to increase the size of a service installation shall be the same as for a new installation of the larger size service. B. SERVICE INSTALLATION OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS Ail installation charges shall be the same for areas supplied water outside the city limits as for areas inside the City limits. C. DEPOSIT The installation of larger services, fire services, backflow protection devices, or any other service not covered in this Resolution, or specifically provided for in any other existing Ordinances or Resolution of said City of Santa Ana shall be made on the basis of cost, including overhead. In any such installations, the applicant shall post a deposit in an amount estimated by the Director of Public Works to be sufficient to cover the total charges. In the event the cost is less than the deposit, the balance will be refunded to the applicant, and if more, shall be paid by the appli- cant upon receipt of additional billing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the above charges shall be waived if the applicant is allowed the option of installing the water mains, hydrants and/or water services at his own expense. WHEREAS, by reason of the foregoing, it is necessary that Resolution 68-157 is hereby rescinded. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the city of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of April, 1970.
