PLANNING COMMISSION AND GRANTING A VARIANCE ON
VARIANCE APPLICATION 70-23, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN
APPLICABLE CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, after public hearing on notice, the Planning
Commission granted a variance on Variance Application 70-23,
filed by NATIONAL LAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, to permit the
construction of a 74 unit apartment-motel complex in the C-1
District at 2151 E. First Street, Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on its own motion set the matter
for hearing; and
WHEREAS, the city Council, after public hearing on notice
has determined that said Variance Application meets the require-
ments of Section 41-638 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and that
said Variance should be granted subject to certain apptidable
conditions:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby affirm ~he decision of the
Planning Commission and does hereby grant a variance on Variance
Application 70-23, filed by NATIONAL LAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY,
to permit the construction of a 74 unit apartment-motel complex
in the C-1 District. Said Variance is granted subject to the
following conditions:
That development be according to the approved plot plan
except for minor modifications approved by the Planning
Department.

That a landscape plan be submitted to and approved by the
Planning Department, and that said plan be implemented and
be continuously maintained.
That only one pole sign be approved on the subject property,
and that it may be illuminated, but shall not flash, blink,
or rotate.
4. Comply with all conditions set by Council for approval of
Parcel Map 651 and Parcel Map 627.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of July,
