HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-110RESOLUTION 70-110 DECLARING THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SANTA CLARA AND GRAND NORTH- EAST ANNEX NUMBER 2 TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA" WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County has approved a description of territory hereinbelow con- tained and annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana, California; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government Code Section 54797.1, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County has approved the within annexation and has authorized the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to annex said territory without notice and hearing by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, hereby finds and declares that said territory was uninhabited at the time of the adoption of this Resolution, and is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; that all of the statements hereinabove are true and correct; and that said territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City existing at the time of this annexation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That all of the territory in the County of Orange, State of California, described as: Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Santa Clara and Grand Northeast Annexation Number 1 to the City of Santa Ana, Cali- fornia, by Resolution 69-79, said point of beginning being a point on the West line of Grand Avenue as shown on a map of the Santa Ana Grand Avenue Tract which is recorded in Book 26 at Pages 53 and 54 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, said point of beginning being a point on the East line of the Grand Avenue West and Santa Clara North- east Annexation to the Cit~ of Santa Ana by Ordinance NS-524, and running thence North 8- 16' 34" East along the East line of said Grand Avenue West and Santa Clara Avenue Annexation, being the West line of Grand Avenue a distance of 778.00 feet to an angle point therein; thence North along said West line of Grand Avenue, being said East line of the Grand Avenue West and Santa Clara Northeast Annexation a distance of 204.71 feet to the Northeast corner of said Grand Avenue West and Santa Clara Northeast Annexation, being the Southeast corner of the Grand and Fairhaven Southwest Annexation to the City of Santa Ana by Resolution 70-45; thence North along said West line of Grand Avenue, being the East line of said Grand and Fairhaven Southwest Annexation, 416.36 feet to the Southwest corner of the Fairhaven and Grand Southeast Annexa- tion to the City of Santa Ana by Ordinance NS-605; thence North 89© 56' 55" East along the South line of said Fairhaven and Grand Southeast Annexation a distance of 80.00 feet to the East line of said Grand Avenue; thence departing from said City boundary and running South along the East line of said Grand Avenue, 80.00 feet wide. 621.07 feet, to an angle point therein; thence South 8° 16' 34" West, continuing along said East line 778 feet, more or less, to the North line of said Santa Clara and Grand Northeast Annex Number 1; thence North 89© 45' 26" West along said North line a distance of 80.79 feet to the point of beginning. be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to Ward No. 1 in said City, and said Annexation is by this Resolution effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this territory, the designation that applies is the "Santa Ana City - 1957-1958 Annexes". BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That in accordance with Government Code Section 35318 the annexed territory will become a part of the City of Santa Ana from the date of filing by the Secretary of State. The Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana shall, without delay, transmit to the Secretary of State a certified copy of this Resolution. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of November, 1970.
